Maybe she sent the link to all her family, friends, FB contacts, etc. and a lot of people voted initially but they perhaps actually have lives so they don't come back on every single day to vote for her smoothie competition even if they know they CAN vote every day. I'd go with that one! : ) : ) : ) Instead of analyzing peoples votes, all of you should probably get out and live a little!

You can't
You can't get 900 votes in one week then suddenly the votes stop. I find it hard to believe that every single one of those voters didn't realize they could vote twice. If even 20% of them realized that they could vote again, there would be continuous votes on this photo, just like everyone else in the contest is getting. It's definitely strange what happened here....

I'm sure 900 of her closest friends voted for her during the first week, then no one came back. ;-) That makes a lot of sense, since the rest of us get say 20 votes a day, steadily.... Remission is getting continuous votes and that seems entirely legit, because the votes never stopped-cold.

Use your network! That's most likely part the reason why "Remission" and this entry are in the top two spots. Read the rules if you're not sure what is and what is not allowed. If it's not mentioned in the rules then your pretty much guaranteed it's okay.

Did you ever think maybe her friends voted for her as soon as the picture was posted and then never voted again? A lot of people don't realize you can vote every day.

Hmm...
There's something fishy about how you joined the contest and jumped into second place quickly with hundreds of votes each day. This seems suspicious since you haven't had a significant rise in votes since Wednesday (you've had 2-3 votes/day).
It doesn't make sense logistically to assume that people voted for you in massive numbers and suddenly stopped. If you have cheated, it needs to be addressed with the moderators. It's unfair to people who have steadily been collecting legitimate votes.
